Mil Shil goes to the labour room chamber. Mi Saeng has secured all exits. Mi Shil arrives & asked to be announced her arrival. But the Lady physician hesitates. While fighting off the guards, Seol Won Rang shoots an arrow where Moon Noh his wrist but his cuff bounce off the arrow but Moon Noh drop the bundle to reveal that it was just false dummy & Seol won Rang is been duped than Moon Noh had the child. Mi Saeng & Seol Won Rang was surprise at the discovery

Meanwhile So Hwa carrying the child finding an exit to escape as she attempts to escape she was stop by a passing guard & drag her in & could recognise her as the maid to King Jinpyeong. He is surprise that she is carrying a child. Then So Hwa passes the infant to the guard to ask him to raise the infant as she can’t do it as the infant is not hers. The guards replied does it make the infant as his then. The guard pass back the infant to So Hwa. Then So Hwa passes it back to the guard & implores him to raise the infant up. The guard churn up his sad story that he already has 2 mouths to feed at home. The guard pass her but So Hwa pass the infant back & leaves, the guard hold her collar to stop her for being irresponsible although So Hwa denies that the infant is not hers. So Hwa pushes the responsibility to the guard but the guards told her that she had created a mess in having sleep with someone’s bed & now want to shed off responsibility for the infant. The guard pass the infant back to her & sent her off to her merry way

Mi Saeng calls out to his sister & Seol Won Rang tells Mi Shil that Moon Noh was the person who is holding the infant. Mi Shil was surprise & asked if it is not Moon Noh then who is else is there Then Seo Ri asked wouldn’t it by chance be the maid that follows King Jinpyeong. Lady physician conform that So Hwa insist on entering the labour room chamber & wasn’t seen leaving the chamber. Mi Shil asked whether the guards was alerted to be looking out for an infant that was about to escape. Mi Saeng said that the guard don’t have the knowledge but Mi Saeng said that he had block off all exist & will not let a fly out of the gates & assures that there is no escape. Mi Saeng tells her husband Se Jong to reaffirm the order that not to allow anything be it as humans, animals or even rubbish to leave the gates. Mi Shil asked Seol Won Rang to go find So Hwa’s whereabouts

Meanwhile So Hwa still doesn’t want to leave as standing there idle there is of no use & chase her away as he threaten to throw her in dungeon if they are not in the state of alertness in the palace security. The guard asked her to take the infant away. Then So Hwa passes the infant to the guard & asked him to raise the child for her. The guard places the infant out & tell her that if she puts the infant back, it will the death of her. The guard tells So Hwa that the situation can’t be helped as now she is a mother to the infant. So Hwa looks at the infant, the infant looks so cute as it can smile on cute. So Hwa then admits that she is now the infant’s mother from here onwards & swears that she will save the infant no matter what it takes. The guards take a breather to say that So Hwa had done well for not abandoning her infant as the children are a blessing. Then his captain comes to see him loitering & mumbling to himself. Then the guard rely to his Captain about So Hwa & her infant. Mi Shil over heard that the guard telling about So Hwa, the maid to the King carrying an infant as the Captain tries to understand the guard’s story on how So Hwa must had done it with someone to have borne the child. Seol Won Rang asked where the maid is now. So Hwa flees from the palace & she recalls what King Jinpyeong earnest pleas & said to her that she had to take the infant far away from the palace (Seorabeol) & promise to protect & save the child

Mi Saeng want to know how long did So Hwa left the palace ground. The guard reports that it is a gak (15mins). Seol Won rang said there is no time to waste as he mounts to go look for her as Mi Saeng asked to reinforce their security when Mi Shil looks up in gaze the heavens only to the Big Dipper & finds the 8th star spilt from the 6th star of Merak (Gaeyang). Then all of them notice the spilt star as they gaze up to the night sky as Mi Saeng asked why the Big Dipper has suddenly become 8 stars

Big Dipper in Chinese & the Korean termology is known as the Seven star of the Northern Dipper. I will continue to use the term Big Dipper

Immediately Mi Shil recalls Moon Noh prophesy about when the Big Dipper become to 8 stars her power will contended, prior to that she has the heaven’s consent & mandate of power & might. Then report comes in that Moon Noh has escape through their blockage they has set up. Seol Won Rang asked why no one can able to capture him. Moon Noh left a letter for Mi Shil about the prophesy just to remind her that he only disclose the 1st revelation to her about the 8th star, the other the 2nd revelation is that the 8th star will able laid contention to her might & power with the mandate of heaven in support. Mi Shil realise that the 8th star’s grace fall on the twins. Mi Shil crushes the letter. Then Mi Shil goes to her guards

Mi Shil: Human beings can be in lacks of dexterity. Humans can portray some sort of negligence. Human are allow to make errors

As Mi Shil look threaten to the guard & the Captain then takes a sword & slash them to death, with some of their blood splatter on her face

Mi Shil: Human can do that, but never will my people be permitted to do so

Mi Shil composes herself then order Chil Sook to go find So Hwa & the infant for her, no matter how long it takes or how many lives is killed or sacrifice, it is of no concern to her, she order Chil Sook to bring the So Hwa & the infant before her. Chil Sook obeys Mi Shil’s order. So Hwa fleeing from the palace in pursue by horseback riders, then fleeing toward the woods as her trip & fell the infant cries. Chil Sook is leading the passé as he heard the infant cry & rides toward it. The distance between Chil Sook & So Hwa is getting closer then she enters a restricted zone. It has some caves. Chil Sook comes to the restricted area cut off the barrier & ride through. So Hwa had to give her nipple as a dummy for the infant to suck to keep the infant quiet. So Hwa sees the Chil Sook & his men coming into the cave. Chil Sook men asked what must there do are they going to proceed to search the vicinity. Chil Soo asked to make a fire at the entrance so that they will able to smoke So Hwa out. While the men were passing, the infant makes a noise as So Hwa hides herself. They start to make the fire to create smoke at the mouth of the cave. So Hwa begins to feel the affect the smokes as it fills the cave

Chil Soo trying to hear any sign of the infant cry as So Hwa pacifies the infant not to cry. So Hwa then give mouth to mouth to the infant to keep her breathing, as So Hwa suffering the affect of the smoke. With no choice, So Hwa was smoke out then surprise to see that Chil Sook & his men were still around & capture her. Chil Sook takes the infant off her as So Hwa declares that it is her child. Chil Sook asked her to be tied up. They were then brought out from the cave as So Hwa shouts at then to return the infant to her & tell don’t they know or recognise who the child’s identity is. Chil Sook grin at her to tell her that of course he knows then Moon Noh comes to rescue as he was on horseback at the distance like Zorro as he shot arrows at Chil Sook & his men to attract their attention. Moon Noh jumps down is graceful style as he battles with Chil Sook & his men single handedly. Chil Sook sends his men to deal with Moon Noh as they charge at each other as Moon Noh slay them down one by one. Chil Sook prepared himself to meet with Moon Noh. Moon Noh shoot an arrow at Chil Sook’s waist who couldn’t stop Moon Noh’s arrow. As the infant was throws up into the air, Moon Noh goes & catch the infant & caught her. Moon Noh ties the infant together with him. Moon Noh draw his sword to meet with the injured Chil Sook who broke the arrow as they clash swords. So Hwa watch with great intense in concern to the safety of the infant. In the end Moon Noh is a better opponent & slash Chil Sook’s face. Moon Noh frees So Hwa & she takes back the infant from Moon Noh. The infant is happy to see her. Moon Noh assist So Hwa & the infant onto the horse as they rode away with a struggling Chil Sook left behind only to look them at the distance. As Moon Noh gallops away, Chil Sook runs on foot & on horseback to chase them in pursuit

Then 15 Years Later circa year 617. The Taklamakan Desert currently in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, China.

The Taklamakan Desert is a desert in Central Asia, in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China. It is bounded by Kunlun Mountains to the south, and Pamir Mountains and Tian Shan (ancient Mount Imeon) to the west and north. Taklamakan is the paradigm of a cold desert. Given its relative proximity with the cold to frigid air masses in Siberia, extreme lows are recorded in wintertime, sometimes well below −20 °C (−4 °F). During the 2008 Chinese winter storms episode the Taklamakan was reported to be for the first time covered in its entirety of a thin layer of snow reaching 4 centimetres (1.6 in) and a temperature of −26.1 °C (−15 °F) in some observatories. Its extreme inland position, virtually in the very heartland of Asia and thousands of kilometres from any open body of water, accounts for the cold character of its nights even during summertime.

Chil Sook relaying his story in a camp fire to the girl acting as his guide that he lost them in the end. The guide asked whether Chil Sook given up but he replies that he has not. He is always late in hiding out in their hiding place where they had already left & he is always a step behind, then pursuit them to Zhejiang Province in China then as he knew that they already took a boat to Hangzhou

Zhejiang is an eastern coastal province of China. The word Zhejiang (crooked river) was the old name of the Qiantang River which passes through Hangzhou, the provincial capital. Zhejiang borders Jiangsu province and Shanghai municipality to the north, Anhui province to the northwest, Jiangxi province to the west, and Fujian province to the south; to the east is the East China Sea, beyond which lie the Ryukyu Islands of Japan. The Sui Dynasty reestablished unity and built the Grand Canal of China, which linked Hangzhou to the North China Plain, providing Zhejiang with a vital link to the centers of Chinese civilization. The Tang Dynasty (618-907) presided over a golden age of China. Zhejiang was, at this time, part of the Jiangnandong Circuit, and there began to appear references to its prosperity. Later on, as the Tang Dynasty disintegrated, Zhejiang constituted most of the territory of the regional kingdom of Wuyue. The kingdom also took advantage of its maritime location to maintain diplomatic contacts with north China, the Khitans, and Korea.

The guide asked that what brought Chil Sook to China as her sole aim was to capture So Hwa. The guide said that Chil Sook had spent the past 15 years looking for the same woman. Chil Sook smiles that he wanders in China for 2 years looking for So Hwa then finds that the way back to home was getting dimmer. For years he wasted in rambling talks for years & engaging in different ventures. Chil Sook said that he should have return to his country & commit suicide in honour in from of Mi Shil. Chil Sook enquire that the place that she is taking him to is an international trading passage. The guide asked whether he was to do trading. Chil Sook heard of the Roman (Dae bul lim guk) merchants that pay good wages for mercenary services for protection

Dae bul Iim Guk is ancient Korean reference for the Eastern Roman Empire; it is derive from the Chinese translation

Easter Roman Empire (476-1453), as the Western Roman Empire declined during the 5th century, the richer Eastern Roman Empire would be relieved of much destruction, and in the mid 6th century the Eastern Roman Empire (known also as the Byzantine Empire) under the emperor Justinian I reconquered Italy and parts of Illyria from the Ostrogoths, North Africa from the Vandals, and southern Hispania from the Visigoths. The reconquest of southern Hispania was somewhat ephemeral, but North Africa served the Byzantines for another century, parts of Italy for another 5 centuries, and parts Illyria even longer. Of the many accepted dates for the end of the classical Roman state, the latest is 610. This is when the Emperor Heraclius made sweeping reforms, forever changing the face of the empire. Greek was readopted as the language of government and Latin influence waned. By 610, the Eastern Roman Empire had come under definite Greek influence, and could be considered to have become what many modern historians now call the Byzantine Empire; however, the Empire was never called thus by its inhabitants, who used terms such as Romania, Basileia Romaion or Pragmata Romaion, meaning “Land of the Romans”, “Kingdom of the Romans”, and who still saw themselves as Romans, and their state as the rightful successor to the ancient empire of Rome. The sack of Constantinople at the hands of the Fourth Crusade in 1204 is sometimes used to date the end of Eastern Roman Empire: the destruction of Constantinople and most of its ancient treasures, total discontinuity of leadership, and the division of its lands into rival states with a Catholic-controlled “Emperor” in Constantinople itself was a blow from which the Empire never fully recovered. Nevertheless, the Byzantines continued to call themselves Romans until their fall to Ottoman Turks in 1453. That year the eastern part of the Roman Empire was ultimately ended, Constantine XI is usually considered the last Roman Emperor. The Greek ethnic self-descriptive name “Rhomios” (Roman) survives to this day

The guide is happy that Chil Sook has come to the right person as she can introduce to some of the Roman merchants that she is associated with & thanked his lucky star that he has found her. The guide is Deok Man, daughter of King Jinpyeong, the future Queen Seon Deok the 27th ruler of Silla. Deok Man taking Chil Sook on the desert trail with her camel as she advertise herself that if Chil Sook never met her, it would have drastic hampered his venture. Chil Sook asked that Deok Man is good with her “Gyerim” (Silla Korean) language despite haven’t been there. Chil Sook mentioned Gyeongju, Silla capital since the 6th Silla King Talhae circa year 65. Deok Man said that she learned the “Gyerim” language among the trading merchant in her place of resident & that merchants are fluent in various languages as a trading tool

Based upon the legends of Silla’s founding annals, Gyerim also became a sobriquet or nickname for that state of Silla. The earliest recorded reference we have of Gyerim being used to designate Silla is from the Chinese histories. The Book of Tang records that in 663 Tang Gaozong designated Silla as Gyerim Territory Area Command and Silla’s King Munmu (30th ruler of Silla & 1st ruler of the Unified Silla) as the Gyerimju Dodok (Commander-in-chief of Gyerim Territory). The early eighth-century Silla scholar Kim Daemun authored a no longer extant book of tales of Silla entitled Gyerim japjeon. Gyerim also appears in the title of the early 12th-century Chinese work Jilin Leishi, or Gyerim Yusa, which provides one of the earliest sources of information on the pronunciation of the native Korean language.

Then Deok Man spots movement on the sand & suddenly had a sink hole. It is a desert dry quick sand or fech fech. Deok Man tells that is quite rampant to find this quick sands in the Taklamakan desert. Then tells of the consequences of the quick sands having sucked & engulfed anything on its surface into its bottomless pit, which entry can be swift and sudden but from which extrication can be difficult or impossible.

Dry quicksand is loose sand whose bulk density is reduced by blowing air through it and which yields easily to weight or pressure. It acts similarly to normal quicksand, but it does not contain any water and does not operate on the same principle. Dry quicksand is an example of a granular material. Until recently, the existence of dry quicksand was doubted, and the reports of humans and complete caravans being lost in dry quicksand were considered to be folklore. No matter how much we may have enjoyed watching many bad guys in old Westerns getting sucked into a bottomless pit of desert quicksand. It is highly unlikely & disappointing to see that possibility exists that is what my geologist friend had said that finding quicksand in your own backyard may be more likely, because the desert lacks the one main ingredient that makes sand “quick” in which is WATER

Then as they move on, Deok Man spots a snake & picks it up. She tells Chil Sook that this snake bites will give some hurt but she said that the snakes makes good trade merchandise with the merchant as she keep the snake in her bag. As they walked around, Deok Man stops to look around then gaze at the stars. Chil Sook is in doubt with her navigating skills & asked whether she know where she is going since it is easy to get lost in the desert. Deok Man assures him that some people who travel are guided by maps but she takes her guide from the stars especially the Polaris. She tells the story that when she was lost, she will wait for nightfall to see the stars to guide her home unscathed & was even praise by her mother. After time pass, Seon Deok show Chil Sook her town & tell him it is a magnificent sight to behold & she asked Chil Sook to make haste for the town below. Chil Sook stand at the point of entry of the town to marvel as Deok Man hurries him to enter

Then a busy tavern lodge house with many foreign merchants staying. Waitress busy serving the customers & speaking Mandarin. It should be Dunhuang, one if the cities on the Silk Road. Merchants playing an old form of backgammon or tabula.

The ancient Romans played a number of games remarkably similar to backgammon. Ludus duodecim scriptorum (“Game of twelve lines”) used a board with three rows of 12 points each, and the checkers were moved across all three rows according to the roll of dice. Little specific text about the game play has survived. Tabula, meaning “table” or “board”, was a game mentioned in an epigram of Byzantine Emperor Zeno (AD 476–481)

Deok Man comes in & calls out for her mother in Mandarin. So Hwa still as clumsy as ever wrong step her footing & acknowledge Deok Man’s return but fall over. Deok Man goes to pick up So Hwa to ask whether she is alright & should be more careful. So Hwa acknowledge the stranger Chil Sook & went on serving her customers. Deok Man said that So Hwa is her mother who is always a klutz. Deok Man read the inn rates to Chil Sook but Chil Sook doesn’t want to lodging. Deok Man persuade him to take lodging as he wants to see Roman merchants to seek employment. Deok Man sold him a room & tells her So Hwa her mother, that they have customer for rooms

Then a Roman merchant comes in & calls out to Deok man. Deok Man happy to see the Roman merchant & ask Chil Sook to follow her mother to his room, as Deok Man greets the Roman merchant who has his hand open to greet her. Deok Man runs to him in embrace as she calls the Roman Merchant whose name is Cartan. So Hwa in Mandarin ask Chil Sook to follow her as she lead him to the room

Cartan speaks sermo vulgaris Latin
Vulgar Latin (in Latin, sermo vulgaris, “folk speech”) is a blanket term covering the popular dialects and sociolects of the Latin language which diverged from each other in the early Middle Ages, evolving into the Romance languages by the 6th century. The Romance languages (sometimes referred to as Romanic languages, Latin languages or Neolatin languages) are a branch of the Indo-European language family comprising all the languages that descend from Latin, the language of ancient Rome. There are more than 600 million native speakers worldwide, mainly in the Americas, Europe, and Africa, as well as many smaller regions scattered throughout the world. The five most well-known Romance languages are French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Romanian. Romance languages have their roots in Vulgar Latin, the popular sociolect of Latin spoken by soldiers, settlers and merchants of the Empire, as distinguished from the Classical form of the language spoken by the Roman upper classes, the form in which the language was generally written. Between 350 BC and AD 150, the expansion of the Empire, together with its administrative and educational policies, made Latin the dominant native language in continental Western Europe. Latin also exerted a strong influence in southeastern Britain, the Roman province of Africa, and the Balkans north of the Jireček Line. Vulgar Latin can also refer to vernacular speech from other periods, including the Classical period in which case it may also be called Popular Latin. Spoken Latin differed from literary Latin in its pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar, though some of its features did not appear until the late Empire. Other features are likely to have been present much earlier in spoken Latin. During the Middle Ages, Vulgar Latin coexisted with a more classically structured form of the language, Medieval Latin, which was used by scholars, scribes and the clergy in formal settings, but did not have any native speakers. Judging by the attire the Roman he could belong from the Eastern Roman Byzantine Empire on the logistics as Constantinople will be nearer to China than Rome was. By the 7th century, increased eastern cultural influences, reforms by Emperor Heraclius, and the adoption of Greek as the official language, for the Eastern Roman Empire & to distinguish the later Roman character from its ancient character. Currently Deok Man & the Roman is speaking Latin & not Greek

Cartan asked how Deok Man well being & why was she late. Deok Man was waiting for him at a location & how much she miss him. Cartan said that he misses her too. Deok Man waited for Cartan & the waiting for him nearly killed her. Cartan apologise in Gyerim that he took another route, the Gansu province then trading in the Mongol plain that enroute, he takes him Dunhuang

Gansu was the vital corridor the Hexi corridor between China and Central Asia: there passed almost 1600-kilometre section of the Silk Road. The province was considered the “gold sector” of that international route. Hexi Corridor or Gansu Corridor refers to the historical route in Gansu province of China. As part of the Northern Silk Road running northwest from the bank of the Yellow River, it used to be the most important passage from North China to Xinjiang and Central Asia for traders and the military. As early as the first millennium BC silk goods began appearing in Siberia having traveled over the Northern Silk Road including the Hexi Corridor segment. The ancient track way formerly passed through Haidong, Xining and the environs of Juyan Lake, serving an effective area of about 215,000 km². It was an area where mountain and desert limited caravan traffic to a narrow track way where fortification could control who passed. More specifically, Hexi is a long narrow passage stretching for about 1000 km from the steep Wushaolin hillside near the modern city of Lanzhou to the Jade Gate[3] at the border of Gansu and Xinjiang. There are many fertile oases along the path. The strikingly inhospitable environment surrounds them: the vast expanse of the Gobi desert, the snow-capped Qilian Mountains to the south, the Beishan mountainous area, and the Alashan Plateau to the north.

Deok Man commented that Cartan Gyerim has improve tremendously. Cartan said that it was true even So Hwa comment that he had great improvement. So Hwa leads Chil Sook to his room, still speaking In Mandarin as she show him his room. Chil Sook asks So Hwa in Gyerim by asking for some hot tea to be brought up. So Hwa was shocked & was silent. Then Chil Sook realise that So Hwa may not understand the Gyerim language as he assume since Deok Man was fluent in the language, her mother would. Then change to Mandarin. So Hwa acknowledge the order. Chil Sook then finds So Hwa familiar but can’t place her

Deok Man took out the book Bioi Paralleloi (Parallel Lives) by Plutarch. This book is written in Greek

Plutarch, born Plutarchos then, on his becoming a Roman citizen, Lucius Mestrius Plutarchus circa AD 46 – 120, was a Greek historian, biographer, essayist, and Middle Platonist known primarily for his book Parallel Lives and Moralia. Lives of the Noble Greeks and Romans, commonly called Parallel Lives or Plutarch’s Lives, is a series of biographies of famous men, arranged in tandem to illuminate their common moral virtues or failings. The surviving Parallel Lives (in Greek: Bioi parallèloi), as they are more properly and commonly known, contain twenty-three pairs of biographies, each pair consisting of one Greek and one Roman, as well as four unpaired, single lives. It is a work of considerable importance, not only as a source of information about the individual’s biographies, but also about the times in which they lived.

Deok Man jots down the questions for Cartan to answer. Does that mean the Deok Man can read Greek? Cartan comment the condition of the book that is now. Cartan ask how many time did Deok Man read the book & how she man handle the book until it is in tatters. Deok Man takes it back & tells how precious this book is to her. Cartan added like a treasure as Deok Man affirm it. She has always thought the world were just stars & sand, with the reading of this book that Cartan gave her, her heart beats with excitement that the thought of knowing empires that is beyond this desert that makes almanacs & cultivate agriculture land & gazing at the same sky with the same stars & sun makes her heart beat faster in astonishment. Deok Man takes reference to a character in the book but Cartan add an anticlimax that the character was murdered. Deok Man said that their sense of heroic struggles & the defense of one’s country should be admire. Cartan said that Deok man had spent her life in such remote areas, so she likes the excitement & enjoyment of the crowds. Cartan said that reality is not exactly like what the book said to be so wondrous & glamourous

Deok Man then tells that Cartan is afraid that she might ask him to take her there. Then an Egyptian merchant comes in & calls out to Cartan

During this time there is Roman-Persian war & right about this time 618-619 the Persian conquest on Egypt started. Egypt was under the Byzantine Empire. He might be an Egyptian Roman. He speaks Mandarin. The merchant asked them to make haste as the feudal lord of the land as put a ban on tea trade with immediate effect. All merchant are shock with the ban trade embargo. Cartan asked Deok Man on the ongoing of events. Deok Man said that the newly appointed feudal lord as he arrive in his new designation has raise a ban on the tea trade. Those caught trading tea will be executed. Cartan is shocked at the harsh punishment. Meanwhile So Hwa serves tea to Chil Sook in his room as Chil Sook asks her to come in. So Hwa bring the tea as he had ordered. So Hwa catches glances at Chil Sook & ask him to have a good rest. Chil Sook thanked her for the tea. So Hwa leaves rather timidly

Merchants are discussing about the bans. Deok Man said that news gather from the household of the feudal lord Chen’s greed & tells about the monopoly of the tea trade that the feudal lord Chen was to be under his sole control & no one else

Deok Man uses Chen Da Ren is a honourific address for his Excellency

The Merchants are furious over there is no fair trading. Deok Man said that the profit he gain from the tea trade is for him to buy horse & raise an army. Cartan tells that it is absurd that he is using the tea trade to buy military might. Egyptian merchant sadden that he wasted a year journey to get here & can’t trade for tea. There are done for. Merchants are upset as they drink to drown their sorrow

Feudal Lord Chen speaks a concoction of Cantonese & Mandarin with heavy Chaozhou dialect. The dialect, by which the Chaozhou culture conveys, is considered as one of the oldest Chinese dialects for it preserves many elegant and refined features from ancient Chinese that have been lost in some of the other modern dialects of Chinese. It is spoken by about 10 million people in local Chaozhou and approximately 2-5 million overseas Chinese. His surname Chen is also predominantly most common surname in South China

Feudal lord Chen maybe from the remnants of Chen Dynasty (557-589) the 4th & the last of the Southern dynasty in Chinese history period known as Southern & Northern Dynasty (420-589). This period was succeeded by the Sui Dynasty (581-618). Having lost his dynasty he comes to the desert to be feudal lord. So that is why he may speak a Southern Chinese dialect. In the desert they isn’t much law governing the area since the Sui Dynasty were already in its ends of its lifespan after engaging several disastrous military campaign with Goguryeo which to be takes over by Tang Dynasty (618-907)

A Cantonese speaking merchant comes for an audience in front of feudal lord Chen for permission or caught trading tea bearing a chest of jewellery as he ask for clemency. Feudal lord Chen believes in divine fate as he hands out 2 pieces of chips. One had “life” (ssang) crave on it & the other “death” (sei) & he ask the merchant to choose his fate. If he chooses life then he will let him go, if it was death then he will be killed. The merchant chooses the death chip & feudal lord Chen asked to execute the merchant. The merchant is drag to be executed as the merchant shout to spare his life. Then the feudal lord reveals that both the pieces are craved with “death”. Feudal lord Chen reaffirm that not a single leaf of tea shall be traded within his territories

The merchant gets their tea supply from the Sui traders but the dilemma is how they could pass the tea through the gates feudal lord Chen’s fortress wall. Deok Man said that the good may be well visible to the guards at the gates. Deok Man was worried about that so she had come up with a plan how to smuggle the tea through without detection. Deok man whisper to Cartan. The merchant also want to know what Deok Man said. Then Deok Man gets a shock the Egyptian merchant could speak Gyerim & the Egyptian merchant said that she can’t keep this a secret because she is close with Cartan as she needs to share it with them. Egyptian merchant said because Cartan has rescue Deok Man & her mother & help them relocated to this place or else they would have died. The merchant said they are on the same boat together riding on this then begs Deok man to save them as well. Cartan asked to share the secret out. But Deok Man is not sure whether her plan will work

Then someone passes a book “Jeong Gwang Ryeol” to Cartan as Deok Man is happy to see the famous book. Then the Egyptian merchant show some conjoured trick with flame throwing skill with alcohol as they tried to barter for her plan. Cartan asked where Deok Man would use in this flame throwing skill.

Jeong Gwang Ryeol or Zhenguanli is Northern Wei dynasty (386-534) calendric system. Northern Wei were the inventor of the Chinese calenderic system
